The System Clinical Educator is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs built on evidence-based research and educational theory. Serving as a premier clinical expert and professional role model, this individual provides the mentorship and guidance necessary to ensure team members practice competently within established system standards. This role acts as a bridge between clinical practice and professional development, supporting the growth of staff across all shifts and facilities within the health system.
Program Design: Develop comprehensive curricula, including defining program outcomes, competency statements, learning objectives, and evaluation strategies.
Evidence-Based Practice: Ensure all educational content and professional development pathways are grounded in current research and align with system-wide initiatives.
Strategic Collaboration: Partner with system and facility leadership to identify educational gaps and develop strategic interventions to address clinical development needs.
Diverse Teaching Methods: Utilize a variety of instructional strategies for both large and small audiences, adapting to various learning styles and desired outcomes.
Clinical Excellence: Serve as a subject matter expert and role model, fostering a culture of professional growth and high-standard clinical practice.
Resource Coordination: Integrate personal expertise with internal subject matter experts and external presenters to meet the diverse needs of various disciplines and job categories.
EMR Proficiency: Master the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to provide direct support and training for clinical staff.
Instructional Tech: Effectively utilize information technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and audiovisual tools, to enhance the learning process.
Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation of educational completions to ensure all clinical team members meet regulatory and system requirements.
Degree: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Nursing program.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience.
Clinical Background: ICU or Emergency Department (ED) experience is required.
Instructional Background: Documented teaching experience is required; a strong understanding of curriculum design is highly encouraged.
RN License: Valid and active RN licensure in the appropriate state.
AHA BLS: Required.
Advanced Life Support: ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on the specific clinical area supported.
Certification: Clinical Specialty certification is preferred.
Flexibility: Requires the ability to adjust scheduling to accommodate educational needs for team members across all shifts (Days, Evenings, and Nights).
Travel: Regular travel within the health system and to external locations for educational events is a core requirement of this position.
