Job Description

  • Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) holding an active, unrestricted license in Tennessee and/or Virginia. No reportable actions or adverse findings in the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) within the past ten (10) years.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a current, unrestricted license to practice in Tennessee and/or Virginia, and no reportable history in the National Practitioner Data Bank during the previous ten (10) years.
  • Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant maintaining an unrestricted Tennessee and/or Virginia license, with no reportable NPDB incidents within the last decade.

Intake / PRN Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Our mission is to combat the opioid epidemic and help restore communities through compassionate, evidence-based addiction treatment. As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you will play a vital role in supporting patients on their recovery journey by demonstrating empathy, accountability, and patient-centered care.

We are seeking a part-time or PRN Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to support new patient intakes through telemedicine and provide coverage for other providers as needed. In this role, you will conduct virtual intake evaluations, initiate buprenorphine and methadone inductions, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide ongoing medical support for patients in recovery.

This position reports directly to the Medical Director and works collaboratively with medical and administrative teams to ensure comprehensive, high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including:
    • Substance use evaluations
    • Medical and psychiatric history reviews
    • Physical assessments
    • Laboratory review and interpretation
    • Screening for co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Develop diagnoses and differential diagnoses and create individualized treatment plans
  • Initiate and manage medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and methadone inductions
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and communicate effectively with outside providers and referral sources
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including HIPAA, DEA requirements, and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and remain current with evidence-based addiction treatment practices
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative, patient-focused clinical environment

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an active, unrestricted license in Tennessee and/or Virginia
  • No reportable actions or adverse findings in the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) within the past ten (10) years
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to compassionate patient care
