Job Description

Crexmed Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing outpatient Behavioral Health and Family Medicine practice. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

The Medical Assistant will support both psychiatric and primary care providers by assisting with clinical and administrative duties while ensuring a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities:

Room patients and obtain vital signs
Document patient history and update medical records
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Administer injections and perform point-of-care testing as permitted by certification
Collect and process laboratory specimens
Assist providers during patient visits
Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and medication refills
Schedule appointments and answer incoming calls
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
Maintain exam rooms and ensure adequate medical supplies
Follow HIPAA regulations and infection control standards
Provide excellent customer service to patients and families
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required
Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA or RMA)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Minimum 1 year of outpatient clinical experience preferred
Behavioral health or family medicine experience is a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Proficient with electronic health records (EMR)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
